We learned something at this stop: skateboard contests on a Tuesday aren't going to be super packed. We figured in Souther California when schools out, Tuesday would be like a Saturday, but it wasn't. Oh well, there was still a good crew of you that came to have a good time and that still went down. Check Nate's video recap and Chaz's photography here. We'll see you at the next stop in Bradenton in a couple months. Find out more about Grind For Life, and all ages, all skills national skateboarding contest series, at GFLSeries.com.
Super BIG Congratulations to GFL Supporter and Team Rider Alex Sorgent for Winning X GAMES Gold !

To honor Dave's contribution to the Ann Arbor and world-wide skate scene and to the richness of the lives of everyone who knew him, his friends are throwing down the first annual Memorial Backyard Pool Party. It's on for August 30,2014 at the brand new Ann Arbor Skatepark.
Contests in the pools for all skill levels, pro demo featuring Andy MacDonald and Mike Rodgers, silent auction, raffle and give-aways, and roots music all day.
Tuck grew up in Ann Arbor, attended Burns Park, Tappan, and Community High schools. He was integral to the creation of the first public city Skateboarding facility, the 'City Ramp' at Vets Park, among dozens of public and private skate spots, from barn ramps to city parks, from Michigan to Colorado, the east coast, and beyond.
Tuck represented Ann Arbor and his adopted home in Colorado in the national and international skating and snowboarding scenes from the 1980's until his death last year, earning respect and love everywhere he went.
Dave was a drummer in punk and reggae bands,a wonderful husband, father, son, and always a brotherman to the other man.
Even in his battle with the cancer that finally claimed his earthly life on July 20, 2013, Dave was an example to everyone around him of what a life worth living is all about. He was brave, honest, loving, and dedicated to his friends and family, and to doing what he loved to do the most, until the very end.
Everyone is invited to join us in a day of good skating, good music, and good friends, to celebrate the life of the one-of-a-kind one-and-only Dave Tuck.
Ann Arbor Skatepark is at the corner of N. Maple and Dexter roads in Veterans Memorial Park in Ann Arbor.
All proceeds to benefit charities that Dave cared about. Donations are welcome, we'll be glad to honor your contribution by name if you wish, or anon is fine with us : https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=WCNFVNPA69M8Q

For the past seven years, before Santa delivers toys and gifts, heβs been breaking away to catch some waves in Cocoa Beach on Christmas Eve morning. Pretty cool, right?
The Surfing Santas event is an annual Cocoa Beach tradition that brings hundreds of surfers dressed up as Santa. Watch them ride in on the waves and kick off your holiday weekend beachside at this FREE event.
New this year, the crowd can participate in a costume contest. Dress up in your favorite winter themed outfit β snowman, Santa and Mrs. Claus, gingerbread man, reindeer, elves β for your chance to win prizes.

Friday night following Tampa Am 2016 was our Annual Old Man Bowl Jam, hosted by Grind For Life where all the retired Pros, washed up T.M.s and anyone over 35 that rips basically gets their own spot in the limelight. This is raw skateboarding at its finest, and I'm pretty sure the grand prize was a six pack of cheap beer. After the dust settled and shoulders were popped back into place,
Your top 5: Jimmy the Greek, Franco Lopez, Orlando Ramos, Luca Basilico, and Tito Porrata. Congrats dudes! Big thanks to Grind For Life and Mike Rogers for hosting. Don't forget to check out GrindForLife.org and make a donation to Skate and Destroy Cancer.
There were 162 total entries with 69 of those being skaters new to the Grind for Life Series. Many of you also skated your first contest ever with us. All those good times plus contributing to the Grind for Life cause of battling cancer? What a Saturday. Thanks to everyone that was a part of it.
