The 6th Annual Grind For Life Benefit & Awards Ceremony, presented by PACSUN, was held Nov. 15th at the Cocoa Beach Skatepark in Cocoa Beach, Florida. This year we had Andy Macdonald, Benji Galloway, Tim Johnson, Buck Smith, AJ Kohn & others pros demo-ing for the crowd. Andy Mac even called out GFL founder, Mike Rogers, to skate in the demo and they did some great doubles runs. Everybody was pulling unreal tricks and really pleasing the crowd. We had a great turnout & about 500 people come through, lots of kids and families. We had raffles, a silent auction and a punk rock band, known as FA, rocked the park. We raised $4300 at the event to help people with cancer. GFL helps people who have to travel long distances for cancer treatment. Thank you everybody for making this event such a great success!

This weekend was the 3rd annual Sean & Skippy Slater Invitational Surf Contest in Cocoa Beach, FL. This is a contest where the brothers invite guys they grew up surfing with to compete in a contest which helps raise awareness for their foundation, The World Skin Cancer Foundation. Kelly Slater comes to town to support his brothers and gives everyone from his hometown the opportunity to see him surf.
Grind For Life showed their support by setting up a street course for the skateboarders. This year, we did a street contest in the parking lot of the Hilton, while the surfing contest was on the beach. We had competitors from all over the state. It was alot of fun watching the guys throw down some big tricks.
Grind For Life would like to thank PACSUN for all the gift cards and support this weekend.
Thanks again to PACSUN, who will be presenting a big event this upcoming weekend, November 15, at the Cocoa Beach Skatepark from 2-8 pm. It's Grind For Life's 6th Annual Benefit event. Check back for the pictures, videos, and a write-up on the event!

This was our 2nd year set up at the AST Dew Tour final stop in Orlando. There is alot of great energy there as people are coming out to see the finals. We also had people stop by this year that we saw last year. I got to talk to many survivors and a few people who were getting ready for surgery and treatment and were recently diagnosed. It's good for me to be available to give people hope and inspire them. We had GFL supporter, Andy Macdonald stop by the booth. He earned the Playstation Pro Athlete Award for his charity work he has done. We would like to thank everyone who stopped by the booth and made a donation.
Also, we would like to thank the AST Dew Tour for letting GFL set up the booth to educate and inspire people about cancer survival and recovery and to raise funds to help those who have to travel long distances for treatments.
